Natural Straight African Hair

As a women of African descent Its amazing the amount of blatant misinformation about what Africans look like.In Africa there were two types of Africans, Africans with natural straight to wavy hair and the Africans with curly to coily hair. They have always been there .The straight or wavy hair African can be found all over Africa.Plus folk move about especially as the Sahara expanse. The straight hair Africans we know left African in huge numbers that’s one of the reasons why you wont see them as much as the curly or coil hair African . (Plus they say straight hair genes is recessive and curly hair genes are dominate).Even though straight ,wavy hair African left, that’s doesn’t mean they all left .They still in Africa. There are number of African tribes that have straight wavy hair,Tuareg, Somali, Songhai,Fulani  etc.

African DNA is the most diverse on the planet.Right now Africans don’t control information ,so many people with a racist agenda seek to distort Africans contribution to humanity.I write my blog to try and redress this balance.

When I studied beauty school l had many people tell me black Africans only have coily hair .And curly ,wavy ,straight hair was given too them by a random Asian or white Europeans when there came to Africa. The official line is white people and Asians have a copyright on straight ,wavy hair.As well as blue eyes , green eyes, blonde hair etc. Most of these folks that told me this have never step one foot on Africa soil but have become an expert on Africans.

European Scholar and there cousins the Americans have no studied on natural straight African hair .The books always say Afro hair is one of Africa and ignore that not all black Africans have that hair type. Don’t bother going to hairdressing school to learn about difference types of African hair .AS THEY HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT DIFFERENT TYPES EXPECT ASIANS OR EUROPEANS.

Niger ,West Africa

Lucky though with the migration of Africans to Britain, people are starting to see Africans with natural straight or wavy hair. I see quite a few in Moss Side , Manchester. Its always a fun experience when your not use to seeing dark brown skin and naturally straight or wavy hair.

People of African descent, who can write in these European languages English , French, Spanish, Dutch must write books , articles ,make films to redress the balance .Or our story will never get told. Our future kids and there kids will be reading lies for generations too come

One of the most usually experiences, I had was in Nigeria meeting my cousin who was a old lady by then with dark brown skin and blue eyes. I nearly ran from the church. It was very scary .I was just not use to bright blue eyes with brown skin darker then my own. In Nigeria they call it pussy cat eyes. Its amazing the diverse of the Africa gene. I would recommend if your not use to the pussy cat eye Africans .Dont be rude as you might hurt the person feelings with the unusually eyes. I would brace yourself for these people .Green ,Grey, blue eye black African are all over Africa. Blue ,Grey, Green eyes are African recessive genes but these folks just pop up out of nowhere in Africa.

What I use to Blog & Vlog

I love blogging and Vlogging it takes time but its so rewarding.I have been Vlogging since about 2007 with a small Logitech webcam .And I have been blogging for about 5 years on and off.My blogging really took off when I switch to WordPress from Blogspot where I only had 23 followers.

I found you need a few item to blog laptop or P.C and small Netbook or Smart Phone when you want to blog on the go.

I currently have White Toshiba Laptop for blogging at home and blog on my small Acer netbook when I am out and about and travelling abroad.I also have two mouses as I hate the trackpad on a Laptop.

My small Acer netbook ,for blogging on the go ,is quite old at 6 years old but I do love it. Its so lightweight and small .It fixes nicely into my handbag. But I need to find a new one soon. Its a bit broken.I also have a small Sony W830 camera for taking pictures on the go and a Nikon DSLR D5100 camera for better pictures.

I love all these items but I will have to replace my laptop and netbook soon as there getting old.I would love a Ipad Mini for blogging and a smart phone but we will see.

All these items have serve me well over the years.

What items do you use for blogging and Vlogging? Please share on social media and comment .

Rimmel Mocha Foundation review

As a Cocoa Brown girl finding foundation that matches my skintone and budget is quite hard .I always stick to a budget of no makeup item must cost me more then ten pounds.I came across a new Rimmel makeup perfection foundation at Tesco ,which says it provides 24 hour moisture hydration. I picked colour Mocha 503 and it was only £6 which is right in my budget.

I have super dry skin so its important that my makeup foundation has moisture in it.I tried this foundation out and I would say the colour was a good match .Its very simply to Black Opal nutmeg colour ,ELF Cocoa and MAC NC50.

It didn’t last 24 hours as it says on the packet, it was gone within 3 hours , as I have super dry skin. But its a lovely foundation. Its nice to see Rimmel London realise that Black British women are here too stay . And that we buy beauty products tooand British beauty is no longer pale English rose skin its a rainbow of colours. And that diversity should me celebrated.I would recommend it if your on a small budget. It doesnt come in a lot of colours if your darker then me but if you can find you colour its worth a try.

Living without a smartphone

I live without a smartphone people in the twenty first century.Because I just cant afford to buy a decent one. I have so much to buy right now , an smart phone isnt on my list of priorities. I brought two cheap ones in the past an Alcatel Popstar, I broken the screen within two months and Alcatel refuse to fix it for free.I then brought the upgrade Alcatel pop 4 but had to pawn it when I cant afford electricity .Hard time folks.

The most annoying thing for me about these cheap smart phone is the battery power just didn’t last ,more then six hours when surfing the net or using Whatsapp. I was constantly carrying a portable battery pack instead .whioch was annoying. And I also had too buy a spare battery for my Popstar or the power would be gone in six hours. And I would have a dead phone which I wouldnt use until charge up again.

The Alcatel phones were lovely and cute but the battery power made the phones a waste of money and the camera on the phone weren’t that great even

I realise I was only after a smart phone for Whatsapp ,surfing the internet on the go ,taking photos and blogging. I realise I can use my small Sony w830 camera for taking photo’s when I am out and about.I can carry my small Acer Happy netbook to blog when I am out and about. And I can my Blackberry 9360 to surf the net, on my daily travels also long as I can find a wifi hotspot. I really dont need a smart phone just for fashion ,to keep up with the Jones

Unfortunately the only thing I miss is Whatsapp as my family in Nigeria contact me via that and sent photos. But I now use Facebook instead.Blackberry no longer support Whatsapp on Blackberry.

I have a list of things that I need to buy.

New Laptop as my old one is outdated and broken.

Laminate flooring for my small flat ,I have no flooring

New 50mm Lens for my D5100 camera

New comfortable chair and table for my secondhand pc which is on its way so I can complete my university work.

A tablet as my netbook is old and out of date.

As you can see smartphone just isnt in my list of things to buy plus too get a good smartphone with excellent camera you need to spend about £250.And thats a price I just cant afford. Iphone 6 plus is my dream phone and its going for £600 .Its just to expensive, thats a price of a plane ticket to see my family in Nigeria .I would rather that then a smart phone.

Iphone 6 Plus

People there is life outside of owning a smartphone

One good thing about my old blackberry 9360, is that you can drop it and its less likely to break then a smartphone.

Tell me if you can live without a smart phone, please share and comment .love betty

Rimmel Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

I am not going to lie ,I am obsessed with winged eyeliner look .I love how it elongates the eye.Every time l wear it ,it’s like I am channeling the Kemetic Egyptian queen Cleopatra .But I do have one problem the styling power of these gel eyeliners.l have excessive watery eye problem .Especially if its cold out side which is under 23 centigrade for me.My eyes start to water and my eye liner will start smuggling in a matter of minutes .lts really annoying as people constantly as me if I am crying and I am not its just bloody cold and I am not build for the cold weather of Europe. I get really upset when my lovely eye makeup is ruined.I really need a water proof one eyeliner and gel liner.I went hunting for one and brought Rimmel waterproof gel eyeliner it was quite expensive at £6.99 a pop.

But l first tried Collection 2000 gel eyeliner and as beautiful as it looked and how cheap it was it smudge really quickly. Pandy eyes with in minutes people.

The Rimmel Gel eyeliner had good reviews but its a waste of money its doesnt last 24 hours its last me about 1 hour ,it smudges too.I am quite upset and dont have the receipt to return it.Its not waterproof .I really like the look of it and I prefer the way gel liner looks but its just isnt waterproof.I am on the hunt again for water proof gel liner. If anyone has an tips or recommendation please comment on the comment section. Please sub and share on social media Love betty

The day Jeremy Corbyn came to town.

Jeremy Corbyn the Labour leader came my town this week. I was quite excited and shocked ,as I live in the poor part of the city of Salford .Its full of social housing , broken dreams and people with health issues e.g drugs, alcohol etc but its my home.

For me it was so nice to see a politician who cares about the average Joe and who is prepare to come to the deprived part of Salford. And who’s prepared to fight for sick ,disabled ,the low pay workers etc. Knowing farewell the wolves of the political class and there henchman in the media .Will be there to throw anyone who dares to say Britain is a country run for the rich to the wolves. And to discredited the person at every turn.It takes a special person to be able, to stand up to that kind of scrutiny and still show compassion, at the end of it.

Jeremy has been to Salford a few times since he became leader of the Labour party and he seems genuine .I cant remember a time Tory leader or Liberal Democrats leader turn up in Salford ,especially the part I live in.

I was waiting for Jeremy with a pack of other people outside the local shopping centre in Salford  where I live.He arrived on a big coach and the press BBC Laura Kuenssberg and North West today jump on Jeremy like a pack of wolves.

There seem to be a lot of press camera’s as he left the coach and no supporters .The Labour supporters were across the road on the grass next to Tesco. But the press seem to have blocked labour supporters from seeing him or getting anywhere near him.The police were also there too.

Its was quite disappointing with the press packs behavior. You would think it was a press conference not a chance for Jeremy to speak to he’s supporters. It left a nasty taste in my mouth.

Jeremy made a beautiful speech when the press allowed him to get too hes supporters. But hes people didn’t even bother to make sure the microphone worked .So you couldn’t hear most of what he was saying. It was just stupid and annoying.

It seems like everyone had a camera phone or camera including me. And those bloody professional photography with huge zoom camera blocked people from being able to see Jeremy.

It wasn’t well organised and towards the end a white man started shouting at Jeremy that he was un electable .And that he didn’t care about the white working class people.

I thought to myself another racists, there quite a few around here .Its a breeding ground for BNP.( I have found BNP newspaper in my local library on the table) & there cousins UKIP.

I didn’t say anything .I just thought when has the elite of the uk really cared for the white working class. Most of what there have was fought for. People die for the vote ,fought wars which weren’t there fight.Fought and campaign for NHS and the welfare state .It wasn’t given just because white upper class people believed in human rights .It was a fight hundred years in the making,

In conclusion ,I feel like Politics in this country ,seem to be for journalists to write exceptionally mean things about MP’s and the people they govern .And to make a living sell the line ,that radical change is the wrong way to go about solving problems. And that the change that is needed is a small change and not to rock the boat.

With Journalists like BBC Laura Kuenssberg you know what shes going to say before she speaks. Its like a script coming from her mouth. She’s the voice of the British Establishment ,her job is too keep the status quo going.

Politics that is grassroots and allows the average Joe to inter act with there leaders and  there representatives doesn’t exist. here. The mainstream media help keep the status quote going and UK Politics has become a show at the Coliseum for when people get restless ,like in ancient Rome to sub divert a revolution .Sad but true .Please share and comment.
